How I have managed to keep my pcod in check.

It was almost 12 years ago when I was diagnosed with pcos, and clearly, I knew the reason why.

Alot of stress of engineering exams, trying to keep up with the grades, managing home financials, sedentary lifestyle with little or no movement at all.

This continued for almost 3 years, during this phase my health deteriorared alot, from weighing 56kgs I started weighing 67kgs and simultaneously my face started getting covered with acnes which used to leave black traces behind. I started getting bad facial hair and at the same time, low energy levels, demotivation  and feeling sad Or not happy at all. That time, my doctor told me, I can either sit back and let my hormones take the control (which I could clearly see taking my life for a toss, as my periods had started becoming scantier as well as I used to get periods after months or I can start taking control of my life and incorporate all small changes that will slowly and steadily help me reverse my condition.

That day I decided I will start my life in a new way.

-I started working out, strength training helped me immensely to become stronger and at the same time burn a lot of calories.

-I started going for walk with my music on and that helped me calm myself and de stress myself.

-I started mindful eating which involved a complete stop to junk food and a track of what I eat, what it contains and how it will affect my health and mental wellbeing.

Within a year I started seeing my periods coming almost after 40-45days, I did sonography to confirm my pcod result and no cystic ovaries were found.

That day changed everything for me and believe me we are the masters of our life, if we want something we can achieve it, it’s just the long way ahead that scares us, but if u just start, do your bit, focus only on your next step, u will see a lot of small changes or progress that u will make and that will encourage and motivate u more.

A little bit of patience, self-love and the desire to change myself had worked a long way for me to get me where I am today!
